Santuario

The beginning of Santuario

It begun with the desire to bring -not only these objects- but the Xibalba energy to your space. We want to bring you pieces that are part of the sanctuaries we are building ... at home, in your office, in the garden.

All the pieces in Santuario have a story wanting to be shared; who hand-wove the textiles, who blew the glass, who collected the stones. This is why it all begun, the wish to share intentional objects for your sanctuaries.

These are objects that fulfill a function but also, and above all, they are objects of contemplation. Santuario is where we see the rawness of materials and the handmade artisan process.

Whether it is displayed as the main piece or full of your choice of flowers, this Xibalba glass object will become your favorite statement. Each piece is individually mouth-blown in repurposed glass by an artisan cooperative in the Guatemalan highlands.

How Santuario connects with Xibalba

We honor our studio as the place that houses our creations, as the space that allows us to explore design.

Xibalba is our home, here we are family. Here we experiment and build designs until we find the best way to share them to you.

Xibalba is our sanctuary, it is where we, as artists, gather elements to connect with our processes, to do what we do with intention. It is our sanctuary because it inspires us, because here, at Xibalba Studio, we have everything we need to continue creating.

In the past year it has been beautiful to find and remember that this space is our sanctuary. In each glass of water that we pour and drink or in each sketchbook and pencil that we use, all these objects support us in our design journey. With Santuario, we make this space, our own sanctuary.
